Avoiding NaNoWriMo
Nov. 14th, 2009 04:25 pmI'm sitting at Panera Bread for a NaNoWriMo Write In. Unfortunately I am completely blocked with this story.
I know where I am and where I am going, but the path from here to there is a total freaking mystery to me. It would be nice if my characters would SHARE their plan, ya know?
So instead of writing, I am reading journal entries and watching videos on YouTube. (le sigh)
I am also contemplating learning how to knit.
It's all
synecdochic's fault. Her yarn love has infected me. Yesterday I found myself fondling yarn in Michaels, and it would be ridiculous for me to buy yarn just because it's soft and pretty when I can't do a damn thing with it.
So I found a yarn/needlepoint supply shop in my area. It turns out they will give one on one kniting lessons to beginners. So next Saturday I may head out to pick up some needles & yarn to learn some knitting basics.
Ok, now I'm ready to dive back into my NaNoWriMo story. Worse comes to worse, I'll have my main character walk around Wal-Mart for a while. That should be good for a couple hundred words.
