I totally stole this from John Roger's blog: kfmonkey.blogspot.com, but it so perfectly describes my feelings about 2009 that I had to share.

2009 was a bitch of a year. Some years you send off, waving fondly. The year 2009 ... I've got the image of myself and four friends, bloody knuckles and splintered shovels, standing over a shallow grave at a crossroads at midnight. "We will never speak of this again," says Old Pete, and we drink to it.

Thank GODS it's 2010!

My first actions of 2010?
I called my mom & brother to tell them that I love them.
Then I entered my home carrying a bag with bread and money.
Here's to 2010, a year briming with love, vitality, and prosperity!
May we all be so blessed!

Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening
By Robert Frost

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village through;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep.
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

It's the darkest night of the year.
May your home be filled with the warmth, comfort, and light that keeps the darkness and cold from your door.
As the Sun returns, may it bring you and those you love joy, laughter, and prosperity.
Happy Yule!

Hello my friends!

It's that time of year again and I'm getting ready to send out holiday cards.

If you would like a card, please email your address.
For those of you I only know through fandom or the pagan community - please include the name you would like me to use. I'm perfectly happy to address cards to Slashlover, 123 Main St., Anytown USA - but if it would blow your cover with your parents/spouse/kids

My email is Lerah99 at Gmail dot com.

Yay! Everyone loves getting cards!

Please note - this is just my way of getting into the holiday spirit so don't feel you have to send a card back.
(Though I do love getting cards, so if you want to send a card back - that's cool too!)

I'm sitting at Panera Bread for a NaNoWriMo Write In. Unfortunately I am completely blocked with this story.
I know where I am and where I am going, but the path from here to there is a total freaking mystery to me. It would be nice if my characters would SHARE their plan, ya know?

So instead of writing, I am reading journal entries and watching videos on YouTube. (le sigh)

I am also contemplating learning how to knit.
It's all [personal profile] synecdochic's fault. Her yarn love has infected me. Yesterday I found myself fondling yarn in Michaels, and it would be ridiculous for me to buy yarn just because it's soft and pretty when I can't do a damn thing with it.

So I found a yarn/needlepoint supply shop in my area. It turns out they will give one on one kniting lessons to beginners. So next Saturday I may head out to pick up some needles & yarn to learn some knitting basics.

Ok, now I'm ready to dive back into my NaNoWriMo story. Worse comes to worse, I'll have my main character walk around Wal-Mart for a while. That should be good for a couple hundred words.
